Birthdays continue to give even after the day is over…my man planned a picnic in the park for later in the week (yes I know my birthday was a month ago but I am finally getting around to this post!)
It was a simple picnic but very pleasant…we enjoyed some wine and snacks. We put crab dip over goat cheese on a cracker..it was so delicious!
Typically, I don’t post much about wine but this was a tasty red wine. My man picked it out…well probably a liquor store worker π but we will give him credit.
As you can see, the wine is called Freak Show and has a very active label. It was kind of perfect he got this wine because during this time I was reading Water for Elephants. For those that don’t know this book it is all about the life of someone who spent many years with a circus.
Washington Park in Denver, Colorado is where I spend many days…usually playing volleyball and hanging out with friends. It is a very active park with runners, bikers, skaters, and lots of people playing volleyball, basketball, tennis, soccer, or Frisbee.
This evening, though, we just relaxed, sipped our wine and watched others be active π

haha π Have a great weekend too!!
Thank you so much for the award!
I’ve been into your blog today, but only as far as your trip to visit your brother. Sounded a lot of fun. I guess brick houses are unusual In the States, although Manhattan is full of them. Don’t ya just love NYC!
I LOVE NYC!! I hope to live there someday or at least somewhere on the east coast π We have beautiful brick houses as well but not necessarily in the neighborhood I live in.
Thank you so much for the nomination and congratulations to you!
It is nice to meet another Colorado blogger. Happy belated birthday!
Thank you! I am glad I found your blog π
Oh and by the way, WordPress has a limit as to how many tags and categories you can use. If you go over 15 in total, your post won’t show up in the Reader. I follow myself and make sure that my posts show up there. I learned the hard way!
15 categories or tags? And do you mean tags on a post? I guess I am still a newbee…what do you mean won’t show up in the Reader? lol
Yeah! Yahoo! Yippee! & Congratulations! Now I’m off to click on your nominee links.
haha good! And thank you π
Thanks again for the nom, Lilly Sue π Re: bday celebrations. Sounds like you have yourself a very good man. The wine looks amazing. And I always love your tunes!
Thanks Liz!! You are great blog supporter π I love it!
Happy Belated Birthday! (I love birthdays that continue and continue…)
Thanks ever so much for the award! But most of all congratulations on receiving yours! Well deserved (she says as Emmylou wails in the background.) Keep on bloggin’ π
Thank you, thank you!! Congrats to you as well! I am glad I found your blog!
Someone should do a Documentary on the Wash Park volleyball days. Its incredible!
Ya, actually recently wash park has been getting some bad rep from people that live around the area….i guess there have been some stupid people that are ruining our wash park! lol but in general most people love wash park…and a documentary might help the situation!! π
Thanks El Jefe
thanks so much for the vote Lilly! I love your blog – and your love for beer! Just got back from the Sierra Nevada brewery in CA and it was awesome! If you’re ever out that way, def. worth a stop. Hope to recreate their ‘beer cheese and pretzel’ appetizer someday – it was beyond!
Aww man I can’t wait to get out to CA for some breweries…so many I want to check out! Stone, Green Flash, and just recently heard of one called Mammoth Brewing…I will definitely have to check out Sierra Nevada as well. They have some good beers and that appetizer sounds yum! π
Thank you Lilly Sue. I greatly appreciate your nomination. My very first and it feels great to know people like the little blog posts I squirt out now and then. On the other hand you have quite the interesting blog here.
Thanks again π
