Milk Stout Nutella Pudding

Apparently, I COMPLETELY missed the memo on World Nutella Day. This is a holiday I would have definitely participated in!! For those that also missed it, World Nutella Day was on February 5.

The funny thing is, I already had this nutella recipe planned for Valentine’s Day. Nutella is one of my favorite cupboard items and typically I just enjoy it plain but I finally made something with it 😀

This recipe is so simple and only contains 3 ingredients! It almost just doesn’t seem fair…but this Milk Stout Nutella Pudding is so rich and creamy.

Milk Stout Nutella Pudding

This recipe idea probably came to me while I was trying to fall asleep…all of my good ideas come to me then. That may seem odd but really when I finally lay down in bed, it is typically the first time in the day I have taken a moment to relax. My days are filled with doing all the things I have to do but when my head hits the pillow, though I should just fall asleep, I think about what I WANT to think about which is this blog and all the food and beer that it encompasses 🙂

After making this recipe the first time, I knew I had to make it again because my mom and sister were raving about it!

Milk Stout Nutella Pudding

Milk Stout Nutella Pudding
~Serves 4-6

3/4 c. Nutella
3/4 c. Left Hand Milk Stout (not reduced)
8 oz (1 package) Cream Cheese
Raspberries (optional)

Take the cream cheese out of the fridge to soften ahead of time. Once it is soft, put it in a blender or mixing bowl with the nutella and beer. I found that using a blender was the best tool. I only have a hand mixer so a big mixer would probably work just as well. Blend the ingredients until all mixed together and there are no pieces of cream cheese remaining.

Place the pudding in a bowl and put it in the fridge to chill. Yes, it’s that simple! 🙂 Let chill for at least an hour but preferably longer (closer to 4 hours or overnight).

Milk Stout Nutella Pudding

Substitute the beer with any creamy stout. The Milk Stout by Left Hand Brewing is a great choice because it has a lot of great flavor but doesn’t have too much extra to distract from the pudding as a whole.

Enjoy the pudding with a creamy Milk Stout 🙂

Have a Happy Valentine’s Day! 😀

Music For Your Years:
If you have not heard this song, it is very beautiful. It is a little sad and maybe not completely appropriate for Valentine’s Day but at the same time very appropriate. Oddly enough, the beer they use for spin the bottle is the Left Hand Milk Stout.

  5. Yummy!! Looks delicious 🙂

  6. OMG: yum! Do you think you could make this recipe with a different variety of beer? I don’t know that we can get that beer in Australia. Do you think a regular stout would work? 🙂

    • Oh definitely! There is just such a variety of stouts, I would suggest a typical stout that doesn’t have a lot of extra notes. But I think it would taste great no matter what 🙂 enjoy! Thanks for commenting!

  7. Gosh when I saw the title Nutella Beer Pudding, I immediately thought of stout and milk stout is perfect. I wouldn’t have thought of making a pudding out of these ingredients, but I’ll bet it was tasty! Happy Valentine’s Day Lilly Sue!

  8. This is a one-of-a-kind pudding, one that I’m sure to try. It’s almost the perfect food with beer, Nutella, and cream cheese. Now, if you could work some bacon into the mix … 🙂

  9. Wow! I think this may just be a beer recipe that I like! One that I am willing to try (if I can find milk stout?!). I’ve bookmarked your page, nevertheless, and I will endeavour to experiment with beer and nutella! Great song…it is a sad one, but also a thought-provoking one. Macklemore and this song are quite popular in Australia at the moment.

    • Good! I’m glad you will try 🙂 you can try a regular stout too. I think it will still be good 🙂 ya, I’ve heard macklemore has been getting pretty popular. He is really and I love that he writes about real stuff. Thanks for commenting!

  10. Haha what a coincidence about the beer in the music video! This sounds like such an interesting creation! I’m not the biggest fan of cream cheese, but you had me intrigued at nutella and beer… 🙂

  11. Yum!! How simple, yet I can imagine it would taste heavenly! I’m a major Nutella addict, I will have to give this a go!!

  12. This is so creative – I love this idea!

  13. Two ingredients I love, Nutella and beer! Who would have thought those two would go so well together? Will be putting this on my list to try.

  14. okay I did not know that nutella + beer + cream cheese could possibly make such a rich and smooth looking pudding! will definitely have to try out this combo soon 🙂

I think I missed that memo as well, but I think I eat some Nutella almost every week. It’s one of my fave breakfast items, thanks to the Germans (it’s where I first had it.) It was really hard to find when we first move to the US in ’95. But luckily you can find it almost anywhere now. I like the recipe idea! As much as I like beer I have never done much cooking with good beer, I would rather drink it than put it in a meal. I think I would be more into it if someone cooked it for me, and then told me what beer when into it.

    • ha ha ya I understand. I struggle using the beer to cook with too since I don’t want to mess up and waste it!
Nutella is awesome and I first fell in love with it in Germany as well!! I would have it on my rolls almost every morning 🙂 Now I eat it more sparingly but still often! Thanks for commenting! 🙂

  16. This looks delicious !! Love the lil contrast with raspberry ! So appealing !
