The Feast

The Slaughter, A Feast for the Masses, took place this past weekend at TRVE Brewing. Imbibe Denver put this awesome event together and Blake Edmunds of the The Squeaky Bean prepared the incredible food.

This was indeed a feast for the masses. There was a ridiculous array of foods starting with shrimp chips and candied peanuts as snacks. Lapsang Tea Brined Pig was served Bo Ssam style with lettuce wraps and delicious dipping sauces.

There was pig trotter, tete de cochon, and rillette served with different pickles, jams and mustards. Ribollita Stew and carnitas were also served. Don’t worry; I still have not mentioned everything!

The assorted salads had your my plate full before getting through the line. The Kale and apple salad with bacon and goat cheese was so yummy!

Blake Edmunds of the The Squeaky Bean definitely provided a great assortment of food and it looks like the chefs enjoyed themselves! πŸ™‚ Though the options were endless- and of course I had to try everything- somehow it all went together and nothing overpowered each other.

Of course, theΒ best only way to wash down amazing food is with an amazing beer.
TRVE Brewing provided a great venue for this event and of course, great beer. Saturday was the release of the prehistoric dog which is a salted wheat beer. This is the beer to compliment pretty much all food. It did not distract nor get lost in the other flavors. The Nazareth Double IPA and Tunnel of Trees IPA were other great choices that I enjoyed (full TRVE review coming soon).

Imbibe put on an extraordinary event that joined people together with good food and beer, leaving them satisfied and their bellies happy πŸ˜€

  1. I had a pint of the Prehistoric Dog, but it was just too salty (sweaty?) for me. I’m a huge fan of the Tunnel of Trees IPA, though. I went to Trve Brewing later on Saturday. The main party was over, but there were still some beer snacks to share. πŸ™‚

    • You just missed me! πŸ™‚ How funny. I enjoyed the prehistoric dog with my food but I didn’t really get to try it when I wasn’t eating so I don’t know how I would feel. It is a clever brew though. Tunnel of Trees IPA was very good.

  2. Your feast-photos made me drool all over my keypad πŸ™‚ Loved the way you told the feast-story; short but super sweet πŸ™‚
