Reminiscing on the Imbibements of 2013

It is incredible that another year has already come and gone. This next year will bring many new adventures. I will (hopefully πŸ™‚ ) be graduating with my Master’s in May. The following mission is typically getting a job but I have been aching to travel for far too long. Though I have no definite plans yet, I am sure that I will be out of the country for some time in 2014 and I am absolutely excited about it!

As far as my blog, I want to reflect on 2013. My New Year’s post from last year, Kiss, Kiss, discussed my goals of 2013…

“Bringing in the New Year I am looking to grow and expand as a food and beer blogger. I plan to dive deeper into food and beer pairings and even more excitingly, cooking and baking with beer. I am no expert in the area but I hope you will join me as I experiment more in the kitchen.”

The year seemed to fly by and as I began to write this post, I felt my goal had not been met. However, as I looked back, I realized that 12 different recipes were posted which translates to one per month: a success indeed! πŸ˜€ The following is a compiled list of cooking/baking with beer recipes discovered in 2013:

    • Thank you! I am both excited and nervous to finally be graduating. Where do you plan to travel? I also want to do some “local” (in the U.S.) traveling to breweries, of course πŸ™‚

  3. You’re making me hungry!!! And thirsty!!!!

  4. Happy Happy New Year πŸ™‚ Many thanks for educating me on the brews and even better, baking with brews.

  5. Happy New Year, really looking forward to more from you in 2014. I am learning so much about beer, I love it!

  8. Chocolate beer cakes, yum!

  9. Lily Sue I love your blog! Moving to Oregon has truly peaked my interest in beer, beer pairings and cooking with beer. We boast at least 8 micro breweries here in my little town of Corvallis and they’re all so fantastic. Our weekend tradition has become going to one of our Pubs in town for a beer and possibly elevated pub food πŸ™‚ I’ve graduated to an IPA and even downed a few stouts that I fancy. I wish you all the best and true success in 2014. And wishing you happy travels too! Maybe a trip to Germany where you could post about German beer? πŸ™‚

    • That is awesome! Thanks so much πŸ™‚ My friend lives in Corvallis as well. I may make a trip up there if I can so you should definitely send me some recommendations if you have time. I’m definitely going to Germany and will be blogging all about beer in my travels πŸ™‚

  10. Love the recipe round-up. I think I want to try all of them! Congrats on being nearly finished with your degree. It’s such an exciting time. I’m actually about to head back to school to start my third (and hopefully last) career, so I’m looking forward to being in your shoes in 2 years or so!

  11. You’ve certainly done an amazing job with your blog over the past year Lilly Sue. I’ve been really impressed by recipes, too… such deliciousness, particularly that deep, dark chocolate stout cake!!! Yum.
