India Pale Lager

AC Golden Brewing Company in Golden, Colorado recently came out with an India Pale Lager (IPL). I had never tried an IPL before and I don’t think it is a very popular combination (yet!) but I love it! It has the hops of an India Pale Ale (IPA) but the lighter body of a Lager. It is the best of both worlds…making a great summertime beer. Fruity and wheat beers are usually the summertime favorites but I particularly am not a big fan. There are some that are made well but many of them are too fruity for me and as for wheat beers…they usually taste like bananas. This specific beer, the AC Golden IPL, is exclusively at Old Chicago in Colorado. I really hope it catches on and becomes a regularly brewed beer. It will only be at Old Chicago for a short period of time so check it out soon if you’re interested! With the AC Golden IPL in hand I imagine myself sitting out on a patio enjoying its hop aroma in the sun…this beer is getting me excited for the summer! Or maybe it’s just the warm spring weather Colorado is having πŸ™‚
