Root Down

Lively, fresh, sensational and creative describe Root Down, located in the Highlands. The cuisine and environment will keep you coming back.

Brunch is served Saturdays and Sundays 10 am to 2:30 pm with bottomless mimosas πŸ˜€ They provide the Blood Orange or Classic Fresh Squeezed Mimosas.

Blood Orange Mimosa

The Pulled Pork Omelette is accompanied with smoked mozzarella, charred scallion sauce, lime creme fraiche (french word for basically sour cream), and pickled habaneros.

Pimm’s Cup…Pimm’s #1, lemon, cucumber, and housemade ginger beer. I didn’t get a chance to try it but it was pretty enough to capture a picture πŸ™‚ Apparently, it is an English summer cocktail with similar ingredients but with some variations depending on the recipe.

Regardless, it sounds refreshing!

A breakfast burrito is always a good choice in my opinion but this one may be a little more gourmet than usual πŸ˜‰ Scrambled eggs, smoked mozzarella, home fries, pico de gallo, calabacitas, dark mole & sour cream…(got an extra side of avocado πŸ™‚ )

Luckily, my friends like to share so that I can try everything but my breakfast choice was the spanish omelette…manchego cheese, watercress, asparagus, scallions, piquillo-almond sauce and crispy shallots. Oh and don’t let me forget to mention those potatoes…AMAZING! πŸ™‚

There were many fun choices on the menu…the Lemon Ricotta & Poppy Seed Pancakes with Spiced Rhubarb Syrup were a hard item to pass up…I will have to try them next time!! Root Down is a dinner and bar during the week as well. Also, check out Happy Hour M-F 4:30-7 where there is specials on drinks and snacks.
