The drive via 285 to Durango, Colorado is absolutely beautiful.
It makes the long drive much more pleasant 🙂
We took off after work on a Friday so we got a late start but it meant we got to enjoy sunset…
I have to give credit to my boyfriend on this one…he had the better seat 🙂
We camped about 5-10 miles outside of Durango on a lake….
There was lots of fishing and the site had great large trees.

A stroll in downtown Durango
Honeyville
Honeyville is fun to visit…it has an abundant variety of honey and jellies made from Colorado wildflower honey.
There is even a display of busy bees…
It may not seem like much of an activity but you’d be surprised how long you might spend at Honeyville 🙂
Anything with a Honeyville label can be sampled! And their is so much to look at, even good smelling candles and soaps…
Hiking
Some locals let us in on a “secret” spot where you can go cliff diving…
I am no dare devil but it sounded kind of intriguing!
We found the spot but the water was too low to jump so we went on another quest in search of “Adrenaline,” the name of a different cliff.
There was lots of beautiful scenery on our journey…
Lost, from poor directions though, we found a fun hike instead…a little more relaxed 🙂
Jumping in the COLD lake still got my adrenaline going!!
The afternoon Colorado showers didn’t let us down…
They came rolling in on the way back but the rain held up until later in the evening.
We finished off the brownies after the hike…opps! 😀
Then we headed to Durango Brewing Co. for a nice cold beer…

We had a fun time relaxing and playing shuffleboard 🙂
I am a little competitive 😉
My boy and I were undefeated 😀
Didn’t want to ruin dinner, so I just enjoyed some Cheese Beer Dip and Potato Skins.
There is lots to do and see in Durango. Years ago I visited the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory but we didn’t get a chance this time…I highly recommend it though!

Kudos to you because not only did you hike but seriously, swimming in the icy bold lake! Geez! We’re so lucky here in Sydney, as it’s the end of winter and we’ve got 21 C outside! But on the other hand the lake might be cold, but you did get to enjoy brownies & beer! 🙂
ha ha it felt amazing!! It was a rush when we jumped in…takes a second to catch your breath again 🙂 Brownies and beer makes everything nice 🙂
Stunning pictures; especially the food. Brownies look yummy!
