It’s Friday, so grab your favorite six-pack on the way home from work or enjoy a new beer. Bombers are 22 fl oz bottles of beer that often contain a brewery’s elite or unique concoction. Like a good bottle of wine, they are great for sharing and sipping 🙂 Stay tuned for periodic blasts of bomber Fridays.
The Signal de Botrange Farmhouse Ale is a very enjoyable beer. This farmhouse ale is aged in chardonnay wine barrels for 12 months. It has notes of wine and oak from the aging process. It is dry, crisp, and refreshing. At a low IBU of 12, this beer is not bitter. Its’ 9.86% ABV is higher than a traditional farmhouse ale but it drinks smooth. We sipped it solo but I see this as a great beer to pair with a summer dinner. It is available in the spring time but we have still been able to find bottles of it and this is a beer that can definitely age. This beer is made in the tradition of the farmhouse ales from Wallonia region of Belgium, hence the name Signal de Botrange, which is the highest tower on the highest point in Belgium.
Signal de Botrange Farmhouse Ale described by Elevation
Springtime in the Rockies means one thing, a chance of anything! Snow, wind, sun, rain, warm, cold and everything in between is possible. It’s unsettled, unpredictable, and exciting – just like our Signal de Botrange, made in the tradition of the farmhouse beers of the Wallonia region of Belgium. Eclectic, funky and a true original, Signal, is aged for twelve months in Napa Valley Chardonnay barrels, giving it flavor and aroma notes of Chardonnay wine, oak, acidity, and subtle floral hops. The mouthfeel is light, refreshing and dry with a medium to light body.
