Denver Bacon and Beer Festival 2013: A Preview

The second annual Denver Bacon & Beer Festival is right around the corner! Local chefs and breweries team up to raise funds for hunger-relief programs. This festival will be on Sunday, November 10 from 2:30-5 p.m. at the EXDO Event Center. Eat Boston and Denver Off The Wagon combined forces to bring you this great event.

“Last year was a blast and we’re looking forward to the second annual Denver Bacon & Beer festival to be bigger and better,” said Aaron Cohen, founder of Eat Boston. “The day will feature out of this world bacon delicacies and some of Colorado’s best craft beer. Hopefully we can raise a good amount of money for Metro CareRing and Project Angel Heart.”

Bacon and beer were made for each other,” said PJ Hoberman, founder of Denver Off The Wagon. “Much like a pretzel necklace, bacon provides salt and texture that aides in clearing and coating the palate. Except that bacon is much more delicious than a pretzel can ever hope to be.”

The Bacon & Beer Festival began in Boston but has grown to Denver and San Francisco. This year’s festival will feature bacon dishes from 25+ local restaurants including Gaetano’s, Colt & Gray, and Trillium. There will be 25+ breweries, like Crooked Stave, Elevation Beer, Great Divide, and Renegade to wash down those delicious bacon dishes! Denver-area Whole Foods stores are supporting the event with a donation of American Homestead Bacon for the dishes.

Proceeds from the festival will benefit Project Angel Heart and Metro CareRing, two organizations working to provide hunger relief and nutritious meals in Denver.

Tickets are on sale and can be purchased here. This will be the ultimate Sunday Funday! Do not delay- the event sold out last year!
