New Denver Eats at Zeppelin Station

Zeppelin Station

Travel around the world with flavor at the Zeppelin Station. Eight food vendors showcase wonderful options from Korean BBQ and Vietnamese bahn mi to Indian street snacks and authentic Italian gelato. The Zeppelin Station opened their doors in March and is a food destination for light rail commuters and the RiNo neighborhood. With all the delicious options at Zeppelin Station, it will be no surprise to see many denverites come for a taste.

No Vacancy

As the name suggests, the No Vacancy stall will rotate through different tenants and the current occupant has something different on the menu each day. The Comal Heritage Food Incubator is the current tenant, providing entrepreneurs from the Globeville and Elyria-Swansea Denver neighborhoods that will cook and serve the Mexican, El Salvadorian, Syrian and Ethiopian foods they grew up eating.

Au Feu

Au Feu (Oh-FOO) serves delicious Montreal smoked brisket and poutine. The brisket can be served on rye with mustard and pickles or try the market bowl – brisket on top of a bed of greens and roasted veggies. This makes for a lighter fare that showcases the brisket very nicely. Their poutine has twice fried fries, local curds, and gravy – I need to try this next time!

Injoi

Injoi is a Korean Kitchen serving up rice and kimchi bowls, fried chicken, and Korean BBQ brisket. The Bibimbap with rice, kimchi, pickled cucumbers, carrots, an egg and fried chicken tenders sounded delicious. Also the Bulgogi with Korean BBQ Brisket sounded incredible. I will have to get to zeppelin station again soon for some Korean eats!

Gelato Boy

Craving some Italian gelato? Well then don’t miss out on Gelato Boy at Zeppelin Station. All the flavors I sampled were absolutely amazing: Strawberry Coconut, Vanilla Black Sesame, and Coffee Mocha Chip. The strawberry coconut was a great flavor combination with perfectly subtle flavors of both. The Vanilla Black Sesame was the most unique and I loved it! It was a great after dinner dessert. Coffee and chocolate are always big winners for me and the Coffee Mocha Chip was so decadent but without being too heavy of a dessert. Next time I am looking to diet splurge, I must get back to try the Fried Sesame Bun Gelato Sandwich.

Vinh Xuong Bakery

Vinh Xuong makes a variety of bahn mi sandwiches and also has some Vietnamese pastries. I was fortunate to have already tried one of their sandwiches and a couple of their pastries and I highly recommend. They have quite a few sandwich options including two vegetarian choices: Tofu and Spicy Avocado. They both sound delicious!

Dandy Lion

Dandy Lion neighbors Gelato Boy and provides you with your coffee and pastry needs. With the same owner as the Vinh Xuong Bakery, Vietnamese flavors and ingredients are incorporated in the food and drinks.

Aloha Poke

At a beer release party at the end of last year there were some samples from Aloha Poke so when I had the opportunity to get a full choose your own bowl, I went for it. The ahi tuna over the greens with seaweed, avocado, pineapple, cucumber, jalapeño, and crunchy onions was bursting with flavor and freshness. If you are wanting the lighter fare and looking for a healthy option, you will not be sad about your decision.

Namkeen

The Namkeen (num-kin) stall provides curry rolls or bowls and the chefs favorite Indian street snacks from their travels. Namkeen means salty or savory but they also have something sweet – the fried milk dumplings soaked in cardamon cinnamon syrup sounds amazing.

Zeppelin Station

In addition to the food vendors, Zeppelin Station has two bars for pairing a libation with all the flavorful food. They have quite a few unique cocktail concoctions and even some that are on tap. Yes, the cocktail is made ahead, carbonated, and put on tap so there is no hesitation if you have time for a cocktail before catching the next train 😉

Zeppelin Station

Kiss & Ride is located at the main level and has a couple local beers on tap along with the cocktails and a list of wine. Big Trouble is located upstairs and be ready for a quick change from the hustle and bustle down below. Big Trouble sets the mood with dimmed lights and playful vibes. The cocktail options seem more tropical and refreshing in an attempt to take you away. The Whiskey Bebop was my cocktail of choice and it sure went down easy. There was also a special beer from Ratio called Three Storms that had coconut, lime, and ginger. This may sound odd in a beer but all I could think about was how well it would pair with the poke bowl and some other eats at Zeppelin Station 🙂
