Bomber Friday: W00tStout Imperial Stout

It’s Friday, so grab your favorite six-pack on the way home from work or enjoy a new beer. Bombers are 22 fl oz bottles of beer that often contain a brewery’s elite or unique concoction. Like a good bottle of wine, they are great for sharing and sipping 🙂 Stay tuned for periodic blasts of bomber Fridays.

Bomber Friday comes early this week for the Thanksgiving holiday! I wanted to be sure you were prepared with delicious beer options. With guests coming over it is a perfect time to share a couple bombers and the W00tStout Imperial Stout is a great choice!

The Stone Farking Wheaton W00tstout is a bourbon barrel-aged Imperial Stout that comes in at 13% ABV. Upon the cap release I got a little bit of a chocolate nose and then followed by the sweet bourbon smell. It pours a dark opaque color with a thin brown head that dissipates quickly. Notes of chocolate and coffee can be found in the taste. Then the flavors from the bourbon barrel-aging are the most forward and prominent. These types of beers are comparable to sipping on a nice port wine or bourbon on the rocks. The W00tstout is definitely warming on a chilly night 🙂

STONE SUGGESTED PAIRINGS (click here for more):

Mushroom Gruyère tarts, French onion soup, Clam chowder, Maytag Blue, Brownies

WHAT THEY SAY:

This barrel-aged palate-saver has been a favorite among our fans—and us—since its inception in 2013. Pecans, wheat, flaked rye and bourbon-soaked barrels provide this whopping, complex superhero version of an imperial stout with a profound complexity that makes it ideal for cellaring—if you can wait that long. Now, we can’t say this beer bestows jedi powers, exactly, but your taste buds may just be fooled into believing as much. A special thanks to Amanda Conner, who illustrated this year’s label to support The Hero Initiative.
