AWARDS time! This is a little overdue but I am finally getting around to responding to these lovely blog awards🙂 It seems inappropriate to be patting my back when this weekend is Mother’s Day and I am no mom but as a tribute to my loving mother my award acceptance speech goes to her…
Memories of my childhood are of both eating deliciously amazing meals and horrible veggies like sweet potatoes and tomatoes (don’t worry I eat tomatoes and sweet potatoes now!). My mother is an amazing cook and it was not just my imagination as a child nor were the tomatoes and sweet potatoes just a nightmare since we had to eat everything on our plates. Growing up, friends always wanted to eat over- sometimes I even wondered if my friends hung out with me for my mom’s cooking! Everyone always told my mom she should open a restaurant…she has so many kids (6) so free labor🙂 She never did because my mom loves being a mom more and now a grandmother🙂 My mom has always been so supportive in everything I do and it didn’t stop with this blog. She was my first follower and the one that thought of the clever name- Lilly Sue’s Bites and Brews. I have learned so much about cooking from her and she is a constant inspiration. She let’s me call her all the time to bounce ideas around and is always enthusiastic as I describe my recipes. She even got me into craft beer. Though I didn’t know I was embarking into craft beer at the time (we won’t discuss age) my mother started my palette with good beer making impossible for me to ever turn back😀
Cheers to my mom and all you other wonderful moms and grandmas! Though it would be a appropriate to have a beer cocktail, this celebratory pear cocktail seemed perfect for this special weekend😀

I have nominated only 3 blogs per award. My sincerest apologies but I would rather supply you with yummy posts of food and beer😀
